Specification・Features

An electron has a specific magnetic moment caused by spin angular momentum. In a static magnetic field, the energy level splits into two Zeeman levels according to the spin state, creating a difference between the two energy levels. Microwaves with energy equal to this difference are resonantly absorbed by an electron and a magnetic dipole transition occurs between two electron spin levels. This is called electron spin resonance. This is an instrument to observe electron spin resonance in a substance containing unpaired electrons and is very useful in detecting microscopic information on unpaired electrons at the ground state in a substance containing organic radicals, ion radicals, impurity paramagnetic ions, transition metals or rare earth elements. This is an ESR spectrometer with a maximum magnetic field strength of 0.93 T, an X-band (9.2-9.9 GHz), a variable temperature unit (310-100K), and a 77 K dewar.
