Thermal analysis is an analysis technique to measure specific thermal properties of a substance as a function of temperature or time as the temperature of the substance is changed or retained according to a given program (heating, cooling). TG/DTA7300 (thermogravimetry) is a system to simultaneously measure, as a function of temperature or time, a weight change (TG) and a temperature difference (DTA) in the sample as the temperature of the sample and the reference substance is changed according to a given program. It can detect, with high sensitivity, chemical changes, such as dehydration, decomposition, oxidation, and reduction, and physical changes accompanied by a change in mass, including melting, heat generation, sublimation, evaporation, and absorption and desorption. This model has an auto-sampler in addition to the features of the previous model, which allows continuous measurements. X-DSC7000 [differential scanning calorimeter] system is an analysis technique to measure the temperature difference between the sample and the reference substance while the temperature of the sample and the reference substance is changed as programmed to remain constant. It can detect, with high sensitivity, a crystal transition, a second-order transition, a phase change and a thermal reaction (a melting endothermic reaction, an exothermic reaction) in the sample substance. The new system has an S/N ratio about three times higher than that of the old system and has a new feature that allows on-time real-view observation of a change in the thermal state of the sample.
